Here a water sport paradise merges with a unique game viewing experience. Situated 1 270 kms from Johannesburg – only a 2-hour flight from Johannesburg International Airport, daily flights service Vilanculos airport - which enjoys international status. From there it is only a half-hour boat ride.Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary embraces 40, 000 hectares of peninsula and ocean fringed with white sand, shallows, and an idyllic estuary. The natural flora combines woodland and bushveld. This is truly a “Mecca” for lovers of wildlife, and a treasure trove for fishermen and birders. The development is a low density, well-controlled, high value eco-tourism venture, consisting of only 54 residential sites positioned along the ocean cliffs and beaches of the San Sebastian Peninsula. There are also three commercial lodges totalling 120 beds. To date most of the 54 sites have been sold. There are also a few resale sites available for potential investors at reasonable prices. Some of the 54 sites have been syndicated by private owners and shares of 5 week multiples per year are being sold in these fully equipped and furnished lodges. The Sanctuary has recently been declared a protected area and therefore tenure is granted by National Parks, with a special license issued to each homeowner for a period of 99 years. The architectural theme of the Sanctuary is distinctly Mozambican with an Arab influence - Jekka thatch roofs lined with bamboo, lots of wood, clay tiles and palm blinds, which complement the special African feel. The airy designs embrace the breathtaking beauty of the area, and perfectly suit the tropical climate of the archipelago. Ownership is guaranteed to be unproblematic, as the facilities are managed and maintained by staff based on-site. Services include all essentials as well as important extras such as a marina, jetty, slipway and a boat refuelling station. The Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary management is also responsible for patrolling the coastline and peninsula, protecting both the terrestrial and marine species that live within the Sanctuary
